Our Mission

In 2009, Dr. Tracey and Victor St John started their family chiropractic practice and from its inception, the practice was structured drastically different than the typical chiropractic paradigm. Mend Health of Maine has a specialized interest on soft tissue manipulation. We have a focus on personal attention and fast pain relief to treat common musculoskeletal aches and pains ranging from disc conditions to sports injuries of all kinds.

We designed and modeled Mend Health & Wellness from the patient’s perspective with the goal of resolving each patient’s condition as rapidly as possible, while continuing to allow the patients to stay active throughout care and in the least amount of visits possible! The key to long-term results is to teach the patients how to heal themselves, to speed recovery, and develop empowerment over their conditions.

We are proud to bring "our modern approach of chiropractic care" to Southern Maine. Since opening our doors in Scarborough we have partnered with many local businesses in the community such as Scarborough Buy Local, Anytime Fitness, Maine Mariners, Nonesuch River Brewing, and Eastern Trail Alliance. As we continue to grow in our unique business model of minimizing patient visits solely on word-of-mouth and direct patient/doctor referrals, we at Mend Health & Wellness intend to continue to foster community partnerships and shift the healthcare industry toward a more patient-centered, results-based care model.

We invite you to be a part of our extended family and experience the innovative care and stellar customer service we provide.

Our Approach

THE ANSWER IS YOUR SOFT TISSUES ISSUES!
Addressing the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, fascia) allows us to fill a huge missing component of musculoskeletal pain and movement dysfunctions. You can injure your soft tissues acutely from excessive force our trauma, or slowly over time through repetitive motions know as the "culmulative injury cycle!"

The body answers soft tissue damage with inflammation to begin the repair process. This process creates new fibers to repair the damage that results in scar tissue and adhesion. Over time, this hinders and alters movement and load distribution, which then frequently leads to pain and inflammation and the cycle, continues. Mend Health of Maine offers a diagnosis and treatment protocol, based on these root causes of pain, poor movement, misalignment and overall discomfort.
  • Assessment

We implement a full body and movement-based approach to uncover even the most subtle areas of dysfunction
  • Manual Therapy

We start with reducing tension and soreness in soft tissues and restoring mobility of the joints.
  • Exercise Movement Therapy

Our clinic sessions have a strong emphasis on teaching personalized mobility, control and strength exercises.

The Mending Difference

There are alternative pain relief options for patients who have visited multiple health care professionals and were told to just live with the pain. There are few healthcare providers that specializes in the treatment of soft tissue-related disorders.

Dr's Tracey St John and Victor St John have sought out the majority of the certification programs available in this field and have spent the last decade compiling a completely unique and diverse set of knowledge and experience resolving pain and injury with the tools and skills they’ve acquired.
